Cacahouètes piquantes au Poivre du Sichuan 50Hertz, 156 g (5,5 onces)
First, you crunch into these extra plump, ultra-crispy peanuts from Kaifeng, China. Then—wait for it—your lips and tongue begin to tingle. Slowly at first, then more intense. That’s our red and green Sichuan peppers doing their electric dance in your mouth.
Now stop imagining—and start snacking.
3 tips for the best tingle:
👉 Shake the bag before snacking
🍺 Pair with a cold beer or soda
⚡Bite the peppers for extra numbing magic
Let’s talk peanuts. These aren’t just any peanuts. Grown in the ancient city of Kaifeng—capital of eight dynasties—these beauties are known for their size, crispness, and rich flavor. The sandy, mineral-rich soils of the Yellow River region let the roots grow deep, packing each peanut with bold taste and extra crunch.
Best ways to enjoy:
The quality of these peanuts themselves is worth mentioning, which we believe are the finest available from China. Sourced from Kaifeng in Henan province, a region steeped in history as the capital of eight dynasties, these peanuts are renowned for their large, plump, and crunchy texture. The sandy, fertile soils from the Yellow River allow the peanut roots to grow deep, resulting in extra nutrition and size.
1. Sichuan pepper has zero heat and is not spicy at all! People confuse it because it is often paired with chili peppers and Chili is the one that brings the heat
2. Sichuan pepper is not a pepper, it comes from the citrus family
3. These dried Sichuan peppers are actually not peppercorn. They’re the dried husk of the Sichuan pepper berry and not the black seed that is found inside of it.
4. Sichuan pepper is not just from Sichuan, it’s from a bunch of other places
5. The correct name for it is actually flower pepper which is a direct translation from the chinese term hua jiao
Ingredients: Premium Peanuts, Soybean Oil, Salt, Green Sichuan Pepper, Red Sichuan Pepper, Chili Pepper, Sugar, Rosemary Extract, Sucralose, Sodium Glutamate
The spice added little to my enjoyment and left a bad taste.
Hi Marc, Thank you for giving our tingly peanuts a try — even if the tingle didn’t win you over this time. Sichuan pepper has a very… particular personality. Some people fall in love instantly; others politely return the vibe to sender. 😊
That “bad taste” you picked up is likely the natural citrusy–numbing note of real Sichuan pepper. It’s the same ingredient used in classic Sichuan cooking, but we totally understand it’s not for everyone.
Either way, thank you for trying us — and for helping our small, tingle-obsessed team keep improving.
They were out of stock for a while, so I tried searching all the Asian supermarkets for a similar alternative. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any that were comparable. This is the best and highly addictive . I have to control myself not to finish the entire can in one sitting. Not sure if the new stock has changed the recipe or not but it tastes even more flavorful.
Always amazing
