Our Green Sichuan Pepper Toffee Nib Chocolate Brittle is handcrafted in small batches by our brilliant partners at NeoCocoa. Imagine the zesty lime and citrusy tingle of our green Sichuan pepper mingling with NeoCocoa's dark, buttery toffee. Thinly layered between dark milk chocolate, your mouth will delight in this buzzy and crispy brittle of adventure.
Creating a craveable and delicious Sichuan pepper confectionery product has been our dream. We met Christine Doerr, founder of NeoCocoa, in early 2023. We worked with her on the recipe through several iterations from February to July, and launched the test batch in October when the weather cooled down. It was an instant hit! Based on the enthusiastic response and feedback, we have brought back Green Sichuan Pepper Toffee Nib Chocolate Brittle—with updated packaging in a cute 3oz snack and gifting size!
1. Sichuan pepper has zero heat and is not spicy at all! People confuse it because it is often paired with chili peppers and chili is the one that brings the heat
2. Sichuan pepper is not a pepper, it belongs to the citrus family
3. Sichuan “peppercorn” is a common misnomer because these dried Sichuan peppers are not peppercorn. They’re the dried husk of the Sichuan pepper berry. A sign of superior quality is the lack of black seeds.
4. Sichuan pepper is not just from Sichuan, but from a collection of places in southwestern China: Chongqing, Sichuan, Yunnan, Gansu, etc.
5. We believe that the correct name for it is actually Flower Pepper which is a direct translation from the Chinese term hua jiao.
This was my first time ordering this chocolate brittle that tingles with every nibble. It didn’t disappoint in the zing and tingle department for sure! Chocolate with a tingle is a very unique and interesting combination for enjoying something we all familiar with. I wasn’t expecting the flavor sensations I experienced in my first bite. To say I was pleasantly surprised by the experience is an understatement. I will have to hurry and order more chocolate brittle yumminess before the supply has been sold out.

Toffee was way thinner than in the photo. Not complaining, just observing. The amount of Sichuan pepper was perfect.

I don't find them to be as tingly as they used to be, but they are still yummy. More tingles, please!

Their Tingly Peanuts are really tasty. Unlike other seasoned/spiced peanut mixes with only dried chilies, they flavor them in a really balanced way with the Sichuan peppercorns (huajião), so you can taste the distinct flavor of them as much as you can feel their tingly sensation.
I first bought them at Corti Brothers in Sacramento, nearly 85 miles from where I live. When I reached the bottom of the can, I ordered some more through their website. They were great. I gave a can to a good friend.
Love these tingly chocolates. You can’t stop eating them. Wonderful gift for a foodie. Use the peanuts chopped as garnish for spicy chicken dish
