The Tingly Blend (50Hertz x San Juan Island Sea Salt)
Meet the The Tingly Blend: a bold collaboration between 50Hertz Tingly Foods and San Juan Island Sea Salt.
Solar-evaporated and mineral-rich sea salt from San Juan Island (off the coast of Washington state) meets hand-harvested Sichuan pepper, layered with organic garlic, ginger, shiitake, orange peel, chili flakes, anise, and a hint of nutritional yeast.
The result? Bright. Savory. Floral. Numbing. A flavor that’s as alive as it is comforting. Sprinkle it on roasted squash or pumpkin, hearty stews, fried chicken, noodles, popcorn, seafood, salads, or even the rim of your favorite cocktail.

1. Sichuan pepper isn’t spicy. It has zero heat — the chili brings the burn, not the pepper.
2. It’s not a pepper at all. Sichuan pepper comes from the citrus family.
3. They’re not peppercorns. What you see are the dried husks of the Sichuan pepper berry — not the black seeds inside.
4. Not only from Sichuan. This plant grows across many regions of China and Asia.
5. The real name is “flower pepper.” That’s the literal translation of its Chinese name, huā jiāo (花椒).
I only tried it on fried rice and noodle soup and they certainly enhanced the flavor,
loved tasting bits of salt and other spices on my tongue as I kept eating it. The only thing I wish is that it had its own shaker. I'll keep trying with other foods.. Thank you! This will be great as gifts! Thank you! Keep your ideas flowing.
I love this salt! I originally got this for my husband who loves the Sichuan Peppercorn tingle. He was grinding whole peppercorns on his food, so I decided to kick it up a notch for his Christmas present as he also loves salt. I really enjoy how it tastes. I am NOT a spicy food loving person; my eyes water with the idea of anything spicier than sriracha. So I thought that this was going to be only a gift for him, but I end up eating it quite frequently. It's not too salty, not too spicy. If you're on the fence, give it a try! It won't burn your tastebuds off, but it will blow your mind.
The Tingle Blend is a revelation. So much more than salt and pepper. Its like fireworks in your mouth - each organic ingredient bursts and sparkles on your tongue - anise, garlic, ginger, and chili all tingling in succession. A masterpiece - give this to every foodie you know!
