I'm on a mission to bring the floral aroma and delightful tingling sensation from Sichuan peppers to your food and drinks. The Guardian called me a “rebel with a ‘tingly’ cause”, and I aspire to be the “Sichuan pepper guy”. I am passionate about educating people about this unsung spice from my hometown.
Born and raised in Chongqing, China, I devoted the first 10 years of my career to clean energy development and rural electrification, most recently with the World Bank in Washington DC. When I am not reaching out to customers or battling supply chain woes, my main hobbies are downhill skiing and scuba diving. Hokkaido, Colorado, Zanzibar, the Maldives, and Raja Ampat are places that have many of my happiest memories.

Singaporean by birth and pork dumplings by diet, I've lived in Australia, the US, & Singapore.
Unlike Yao, I was a terrible student and after years of skipping classes and feeling unmotivated, I decided to change things. So after I graduated with my Law diploma, I ran away to Florida to pursue a B.A in Comms and later a M.A in Comms, Culture, & Technology at Georgetown University.
Upon graduation, I started working as a Communications Analyst with The World Bank. But after a decade in the U.S. and an increasing amount of asian hate violence, I decided to move back to Singapore to become a Senior Manager with the Singapore Prime Minister's Office (Strategy Group). But clearly there were greater pulls than the throes of bureaucracy.
